Because what you do should make you giddy, so giddy, you'll want to share it.
If I were a superhero I would be Captain Enthusiasm. I can take an idea and get people really excited about it. Genuine, authentic and awe-inspiring. If I don't like it, I'll tell you. This bodes well in my line of work. Not certain my superhero would get their own comic book series, seeing how Captain Enthusiasm would be encouraging everyone even the villain to be the best villain ever. What can I say? If I have a project in the works and I am fortunate to work with a solid team of creative minds we are going to have jam sessions of ideas. We collaborate. We envision with giddy geeked out excitement of what can be. And we can't wait to share it, to put forth the project, to bring life to an event all in the hopeful effort to inspire. Which is why I believe; Some people pursue happiness. Other create it. Both are admirable. Both take courage, and honesty. Me - I get to create; a day, an event, a project brought to life. A mosaic effort of all talents coming together in a final kaleidoscope of labor and thoughtfulness. This is how advancement and innovation begins. Because someone wanted someone else to become inspired to be the better version of themselves. Because I sincerely believe, integrity, authenticity and enthusiasm are contagious. And the world needs more, real, more honesty, more excitement in our daily lives. Did I mention I'd be Captain Enthusiasm? (No cape!) In my life as an independent freelance project coordinator, I am able to bring my ideals and the ability to create. What I have learned and, still am learning is endless. We spend our lives transitioning and arriving. I have discovered to not make the mistake of thinking I can, or will, or have fully arrived. Whether it is a state of happiness, income, or mindset. Thinking I have achieved is a static worldview and stunts growth. Come to terms with the fact that if you want to achieve, you can never stop trying. I have unquenchable curiosity, and I don't think I will ever stop learning. I certainly hope not. If you are so laser-focused on reaching one specific goal, you may actually miss forks in the road that lead to other opportunities. I chose the path to create. I always have. To produce, to coordinate events and projects. It's my jam. It inspires me. It's who I am. We all have something about ourselves that we can offer, that brings out the best in ourselves and others. And this is mine. Making a positive impact on the world (however difficult that is to measure), inspiring others, being authentic, and, most important, having meaningful and lasting relationships with people who are authentic too. Because if you're not enthusiastic about what you do, then you might want to rethink what you do. Because as far as I know we do this once. #makeitcount
